It’s a time honored tradition – a cultural space between work and play where friends are made, ideas are inspired, and life happens. Italians, long known to be experts at la dolce vita, know that an aperitivo is key to a balanced life of hard work and simple pleasures. The French agree. A breezy apéro in Lyon, anyone?
But seriously, who can just fly to France on a whim? And how would you kick it with your friends on Thursday night if you’re in Lyon? Point is: You don’t have to go a foreign country to enjoy la belle via. “Happy hour should be an breezy and attainable amuse bouche for your palette,” says Chef Jonathan Searle. “I use it as a time to unwind and practice gratitude. My best ideas arise when I’m carefree and easy.” We don’t know what the Lumière brothers were doing when they came up with the idea for cinema or when Bartolomeo Cristofori invented the piano, but we can only guess the illuminating moment was over an apertif and a bite of cheese. Best friends are forged, the tapestry of culture is woven and we leave with a fresh appreciation for a full and rich life.
After work, enjoy the art of a sip and a snack in the Lockbox lounge. Special menus change often.
